AGAFAY DESERT

Pick up from your Hotel/Riad at 8.30am leaving the hustle and bustle of Marrakech behind, we are now on route to the Agafay desert and the Kik plateau, after passing  through the Kasbah Agafay, we continue through arid landscapes. crossing the Oued N’fis river, we will see a few villages whose mud houses, blend into the color of the rock.

The trail then leads off road to into a vast desert composed of hills and ravines, scattered with abandoned villages, extending out of sight towards the foothills of the High Atlas.

We arrive at Dam Takerkoust, here we will stop to take pictures, of the fabulous view of the reservoir, surrounding landscape and the lake.  We take a hilly road through small villages to arrive on the Kik plateau allowing a pleasant discovery of the Toubkal  national park, which offers unique views of the high peaks of Africa North.

Beyond Asni, the road enters the valley of Imlil, on arrival we will stop for lunch and then we  take a one to two hour guided walk in the valley to Ait Mizan at the foot of the highest mountain in Morocco, Jbel Toubkal (4165m). Arriving back in the late afternoon to Marrakech passing through the beautiful Gorges de Moulay Brahim.
